A Safe Place for
Healing & Growth

My work as a therapist is about providing a safe place to help you make sense of your story, revealing new possibilities for growth, healing, repairing relationships, and raising children.

About

Sarah earned her Master’s degree in clinical counseling from the University of Virginia in 1990 and practiced professionally at the Minirth-Meier Clinic, a Christian mental health clinic, in Northern Virginia. Following this, she practiced in Singapore at a mental health agency serving the expatriate community in the region. Since relocating to Charlottesville, VA with her husband, she is now seeing clients via telehealth or in-person in Charlottesville.

Sarah is licensed to practice in both California and Virginia and has completed advanced training in the treatment of traumatic stress. She is Level 1 & 2 trained in the practice of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidenced-based therapy with highly effective outcomes in treating traumatic stress. Sarah is a member of the California Association of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors and the American Association of Christian Counselors.

While raising her three children with her husband, Michael, she served in the soul care ministry of her church, training and supervising lay counselors. She also led spiritual growth/discipleship groups for many years. Sarah has been married for 30 years and has three grown children, bringing many years of life experience to her work as a therapist.
